About Koh Samui

Koh Samui is Thailand’s third largest Island and has long been popular with travellers from across the globe. The tropical climate, pristine white sand beaches and relaxed atmosphere have people coming back year after year. High-End development has been rapid and 5-Star resorts and hotels have opened across the Island. International Hospitals have opened and they are of an excellent standard and the opening of a Tesco/Lotus shopping centre means you can buy all the essentials under one roof. There are still plenty of beach hut and bungalow operations to cater for the backpacking fraternity. The Island has retained its cultural values and still manages to mix easily with the onrush of Western modernity. From the beautiful scenery and waterfalls of the West coast to the all night party paradise of Chaweng, there is an adventure around every corner.
TopCats Fishing Resort enjoys a fantastic location; Ban Taling Ngam is one of Koh Samui’s best kept secrets. The area has a reputation for tranquillity and exclusivity which has attracted several high-end businesses and hotels like the Royal Meridien. Situated close to Nathon, the main port on the Island, all facilities remain within easy driving distance. Why not go elephant trekking or visit the local snake farm? One of Samui’s most popular tourist attractions, the Namuang Waterfalls, are just around the corner. 5-Star Hotels and Restaurants have been built along the Western coast of the Island where it is possible to view the most beautiful sunsets Samui has to offer.

Koh Samui is the epitome of an idyllic tropical island paradise: small and laid-back, coconut palms swaying over white sand beaches. For those of you looking for more active pursuits, there are many amenities on offer including the international class Santiburi golf course. An excellent tennis court facility is situated ½ a kilometre from the resort. Visitors can experience many thrilling activities ranging from hill trekking through the rainforest to scuba diving amongst shoals of brightly coloured fish in the tropical waters. The island is small enough to put everything within easy reach.

For the ladies…Relax and pamper yourself at one of Samui's luxurious Spas. Experience a traditional Thai massage or indulge in a rejuvenating treatment to wash away all life’s troubles. Samui is also a great place to partake in a little ‘retail therapy'. From market stalls piled high with fake watches and sportswear to up-market antique shops.

Samui's nightlife now has a worldwide reputation, and deservedly so. From chilled-out beach bars to dinner cabaret shows, rocking clubs and happening pubs. When the sun goes down, the resorts of Chaweng and Lamai are the two main entertainment areas and have an exceptionally vibrant music scene. Beginning at dusk you can stake a leisurely stroll down the main strips and choose from hundreds of venues for drinks, dining and live music. The neighbouring island of Koh Phangan hosts the legendary Full Moon Beach Party.

Another factor that makes Koh Samui so appealing to visitors is the fact that you can still stop at a street cart for a plate of Pad Thai or Fried Rice at unbelievably cheap prices, while just around the corner a lavish international buffet is being served in a top class restaurant. Fresh seafood and tropical fruits are the natural specialties of Samui, though you will find menus sufficiently varied to cater to all tastes.

The natural beauty and charm of the island is captivating. This island paradise has something for everyone!
